95 year old George had been living in the assisted living section apartment near me and now has moved to a apartment in the memory care section. I am not surprised because I have witnessed a marked decline in his memory and cognitive abilities over the past two weeks. When I first met him last year he was a pretty sharp old timer. The memory care unit has special programs and activities as well as their own dining room.

Sorry to hear Lon...at least he is much older than most before that happens.
And lucky to have good care.

I've said before that I like the idea of keeping people in the same facility and moving them through their stages on-site. I hope my assumption that it is less disruptive is an accurate one.
