I got on the portal and took a look but I haven't had my appointment yet to discuss the results but I did have my son send them to his best friend who is a radiologist.

There are lots of smaller issues but nothing major going on in my lower back. There was a note that stated that I have a double collecting system of the right kidney. I looked that up and it's just a defect that is benign.

    My shoulder shows mild tendinitis.

So...why does my shoulder hurt so badly and why can't I even stretch that arm completely??

Anyway...will see what the pain dr has to say on Sept 20.

Even mild tendinitis can be pretty painful. There are braces that can be worn for it and, of course, pain meds (prescription or OTC). Apparently you don't have full ROM and that can be a headache as well.

Could be more than you are reading or seeing online.

I got copy (disc) of my last MRI, done 2016, on my naggy/achy left shoulder, but I just couldn't figure out how to look at and read it. The printed "Results" of the MRI told me some, but not enough for my approval. When I finally seen the surgeon, a few months ago, and he had an x-ray done on it, I had him explain what the x-ray showed. Of course, an x-ray is not like an MRI. X-ray: bones. MRI: muscles, tendons.

Anyway, the cortisone shot hasn't really helped the shoulder, so guess I'll be taking a dose of ibuprofen on a daily basis for the rest of my life. Guess, some medical things just have to be accepted. At least it's not as much ibuprofen as I use to take.

Could it also be from pinched nerves in the neck?? I think I need an MRI of that area next.

All I know is that my shoulder hurts every single day...all day, even with meds and I can't stretch my arm straight up or straight out.

Guess I'll know more when I see the dr on the 20th but my sons radiologist friend looked at my results already but not the MRI itself.

She said I could send her that also but I don't think I have that in the portal.

Best to wait and see what the doctors says, in the meantime Arnica gel should help
the great thing about it is, no smell and very easy to apply

For me, from what you are describing about your shoulder, it was both a fully torn and partially torn tendons that required surgery. And, that "surgery" happened on both surgeries, due to falls. If the tendons were simply partially torn, surgery most likely wouldn't have been needed. Only physically therapy. Depending on how much that "partial" tear was. A partial tear can, over time, end up being a full tear. When I'm in the drivers seat in our vehicle, I don't reach around to the back seat (to get something) nearly as much as I use to. Neither does my wife. A partial tendon tear can happen doing that. One thing for sure, I don't want any more rotator cuff surgeries.

I'm hoping to get some physical therapy...if my insurance covers it.

I still think I need to check out my total spine area in an MRI ....especially my neck.

I will definable request an OPEN MRI if I ever get another one.

Ive tried every single cream or gel that's sold for pain in drugstores, don't think I've seen Arnica though.

None of the other creams or patches work.

I also can't get the patches on right by myself.

So many people our age suffer with this problem in the neck and shoulder
very simple exercise really does help but see what your doc says Chrissy
I know hunching the shoulders up slowly, a few times and turning the neck from side to side helps
We seem to just stiffen up and then the area hurts when we use it

Yep, it sure is @Patsy Faye.

I also forget to add that on my shoulder I have a type 1 acromion with anterior downsloping whatever that means.

I'll check out Walgreens and if they don't carry it, I'll go to CVS when I go to Trader Joe's (same plaza).
