    Pronounced 'dang kee'.

I have never heard of this and googled it (1) for prounciation and (2) more info on it.

So from the article these mosquitos are being engineered to reduce the disease by making them resistant and also prevent the gene from being passed on to baby mosquitos ?

Most commonly found in tropical environments. Cases in the U.S. where tourists returned from places like the Caribbean, Latin American, the Pacific Islands to Florida.

Just a few tidbits of interest.

That WAS interesting! I live in Florida and have never heard of it, but there is a great divide between south Florida and north Florida. Kinda silly, but it's
'a thing'. :D I've never heard of Mozzies.....but now I realize it's the Aussie version of mosquito. I like how they have cute names for everything.
