I recall seeing "Santa Clause Conquers the Martians" at the theatre when I was a 10 year old kid in '64. Pia Zadora was in it...she and I are the same age. She was a cute little green thing.

My older siblings took me to a horror movie years before that when I was 5 or 6. I had nightmares about it for the longest time, and never forgot it. I bet it was every bit of 45 years later I happened to see it on some cheezy late night TV show: "13 Ghosts." Had Marty Milner in it. I had to laugh when I saw it, it was so hokey. But man, it scared the crap out of me when I was younger.

I remember when the classics would play on TV. I just looked up "Porgy & Bess" on the web. I could have sworn seeing it annually, yet Wiki says it only played on network TV once in '67. Huh. And exactly when did they stop the annual showing of "The Wizard of Oz" on television?

Regarding music: I still have a couple of my father's Sing Along With Mitch albums, complete with song sheets.
