Two months with absolutely NO precipitation, Sat. night a nice shower developed, about .1" of rain. Not much. But enough to sustain these tenacious desert plants, somehow. Adapted to this aridity, no doubt, by perhaps millions of years like this past one. How do the quail, which abound, and bunnyrabbits survive, we wonder every day. Last year's Monsoon produced this scene in our front yard: Here is a typical summer downpour viewed from about 2 miles away.....sun shining on me as I took the pic: These little guys, and their babies, (look very closely), go about their daily business of subsistence in the desert, closest thing to hell on earth.
