Yes please and I don't even drink.
Okay, I know there are missing posts. I don't have time to get into it into any detail since that won't help any of you anyhow, but a cron job timed out, with a memory loss error. If I can get it to complete, I think we'll have our posts back but that's not something that I can do myself because it's not like I can open a drawer and go looking for them. I don't know if it's a limitation at the level of the host or in the forum software. I don't know if I'll be able to get the missing posts back but I'll try. Meanwhile, please just go on posting.
Don't worry about getting them back, we will survive. We just wanted to let you know what happened.
Right now, my host tells me that I should have plenty of memory to complete any task. I have told them that if I needed to upgrade a more expensive plan, I'll gladly do that. I am waiting to hear back before trying to run the cron job again because if it cuts out again, we may lose more posts.
Okay, sounds like a plan. Should we be using photobucket for posting photos. Holly mentioned that, it doesn't use as much memory that way.
I prefer Photobucket because it doesn't use my resources, but not everyone seems to be able to figure that out, so I'm not requiring it. We will get this figured out. I don't know if I'll be able restore what is missing, but we'll be able to continue.
And I, not aware of a limitation on memory, just started a thread containing a vid and image. Maybe 5megs, or more.. Sorry, if I have further "sintered the cinder"!
Thanks Ken I will look into Photobucket if it helps, the missing posts are hopefully on your compost heap doing some good
@Ken Anderson , just happened again.
Wow. I wonder if I'll get that one too?
I got that notice as well, several times in fact, and then it came in huge black letters instead of the red and black box.
When I closed everything down and re-opened the page, it was fine again. Something that is happening is affecting the forum usability. Hopefully, it is something fixable; but until it either stops happening, or Ken can get the problem fixed, we will just all have to work around the issue.
If you can refresh the page so that it opens it up again, that seems to help, or at least it worked for me.
I just posted and tagged Ken so he knows it's still happening. Yes, after a minute all is well again at least for now.
I got an email from Netflix about someone possibly accessing my account. I don't know if y'all also received that email (those of you with Netflix), but it's possible that multiple sites were attacked yesterday. I saw a news story yesterday about Iranian hackers being charged, so perhaps it was in retaliation for that.
I have Netflix and didn't get that email.
