The article link that I shared in my first post is exactly how weather, etc. affects my body's arthritis. I have been explaining the best I could to my husband over the years but now I will be able to read him the article too. He finds it so strange too that one morning I start out feeling just fine...and then later on that day I start feeling like I am catching the flu, etc with the aches and pains...and stiffness. Now it seems it is going straight to the pain and stiffness...at least the aches gave me some advance warning of what was coming.

It's rough when you don't understand what is happening to you. But when I noticed that a pattern was developing here I figured out for myself what was going on. And when you know what is happening it is alot easier to deal with even if it is not pleasant to deal with.

I read an article once and a Thread from a Relocation Forum concerning altitude and arthritis.

The article stated that higher altitudes "significantly lowered" arthritis pain.

In the Relocation Forum (Denver, CO), a person stated that their arthritis pain was pretty much gone after moving to the Mile High City.

As for wife and I, from what I remember, from living south of Denver for 5 1/2 years..........we did get colds from folks who went to work with a cold, but definitely don't remember any arthritis pain during the winter months. Of course it has been 10 years since we've lived there, which makes us 10 years older now.

I have family in Colorado and my brother in law has some arthritis and back issues. They've lived there about 35 years now and he's 57....maybe he'd hurt more elsewhere but who knows.

They just got back from 2 weeks in Spain but haven't talked to him since then.

Thing is, sounds like Babs, and some others, have much more arthritis pain than “some”.
I’d consider my arthritis pain “some”, compared to what others on this Thread have/get. Mine’s not so bad I can’t hardly move around or anything. Mine is the “achy and nagging” type pain and either a 800 mg ibruprofen or 50mg Tramadol takes it all away. Generally, I take a Tramadol once a week.

That's just it @Cody Fousnaugh. It isn't every time it rains or that the whether makes a change that I will have arthritis pain and stiffness. It seems to be more of intense and fast changes in the weather, or a bunch of pressure systems circling around at one time. I don't need to take something for this everyday because I don't have a problem with it every day. So I do have pain and stiffness when this kind of scenerio happens, the rest of the time I don't even feel like I have any arthritis. And I would say that would be the majority of the time. The only thing that seems to be changing is that when it does flare up the pain and stiffness are getting worse and it's getting hard at those times to grin and bear it.

I just would like to find something that works for those times the grin and bear it just won't work.

@Chrissy Cross lives in a Valley where they don't have extreme temperature changes, etc. maybe that's why her problems with arthritis stay pretty stable.

Ok, let’s finally get down to the real truth about this subject......it’s mostly about AGE!! As everyone in this forum keeps saying, “old/older age isn’t fun”.

@Cody Fousnaugh there are actually alot of people even young children that have forms of arthritis so my post really isn't about getting older. Everyone on this Forum is definitely getting older...that is a given fact. But not all of us have arthritis...nor do the ones who have it....have the same problems with it.

But there is one thing that is true for all of us. It's not fun having it.

And I think we all hope we can find something that will help us through the bad days.

Well, since medications, no matter if they are otc or prescription, bother me, guess I’ll just keep on using what I’m using.

However, it’s a pity for those, like myself, that have to rely on those meds to get the pain killed.

Now I have to find out if it’s this Swanson Joint Care that has pushed my bg number up to high.

Boy, if it’s not one thing it’s another!
