After years of working none stop running our upholstery business we have jacked it in. Been living in our motorhome for five months now, Spent four months in Spain now back in UK again for a couple of months before going over to France, Spain and Portugal touring, loving our new hobby anybody else out there doing same sort of thing.
Welcome to the forum, Dom! Hope your dream is all that you want it to be! You reminded me of a sign I saw on the back of an upholstery truck, that read "On The Road To Recovering"!
Welcome to the Forum @Dilly Dom. And congrats on your new lifestyle...glad to hear your enjoying it so much. I live that lifestyle in my dreams alot, but in real life I don't think that going to happen for us.
What a happy time it is for you now! That's the way life should be when you retire and get to do as you wanted to do all your life that you've worked hard for! As for me almost living that dream and it's coming true for me at my age now. I don't understand why things took so long for me to have my dreams come true now. But at least it is coming true for me now.
In my daydreams, i think of doing something similar. You have made your dreams come true and sounds like you are loving it. Did you keep your home or did you sell it? That is one thing about which i am conflicted. I understand that most people sell their home.
Gee, @Dilly Dom, what a life you have now. I agree with this thread's title that you are living the dream. So lucky of you to achieve that. We all have that dream life that we deem to be just a dream because it is usually quite impossible to happen but I know that there are the lucky ones like you who are now living the dream. As what my husband would say, we all die sooner or late so why not enjoy life while we still can. If only we have the finances maybe we would also live our dream. Enjoy your trips.
