The homeless, having little money, are able to buy spray paint to use developing their artistic skills.

The images extend for miles. About 66,000 homeless. My hometown's entire population is 55,000. Go figure.

    "
Homelessness, she added, is only one end of the barbell. In Los Angeles, like in other municipalities around the country, COVID-19 is

exacerbating inequality that was already there.

"We know that since the onset of the pandemic, the country's super rich have gotten richer," said Roy. "I think that unless we are willing to tackle this fundamental question of inequality, it's very difficult to tackle what is now a massive crisis of eviction and houselessness, and one that threatens to get much worse.""

    @Shirley Martin

In 2018, three-fourths of homeless people in San Jose, Santa Clara and Santa Clara County were unsheltered. San Diego and San Diego County had the second-largest number of veterans (1,312) experiencing homelessness of any continuum of care involving a major city in 2018.

".......in January 2018, nearly 553,000 people were homeless in the U.S."

NOTE THAT OUT OF THE TOP 10, 6 ARE IN CALIFORNIA.

I read somewhere a couple of years ago that some California city bought vacant buildings and fixed them up to provide homes for the homeless. The hitch was that they had to obey certain rules. The best I remember, that didn't work out so well.

All these progressive cities. And just like their corrupted, politicized law enforcement, when these plans gang aft a-gley, there shall be no proper local accountability...it will somehow be a national issue requiring Federal funding.

These people dun had the smarts educated right outta them. Bless their hearts.

First, allow me to welcome you to the Seniors only Club and Merry Christmas to you as well.

On the LA homeless front, the fix is multi-faceted and almost too late to do much about it other than running people out of the city.
The situation in L.A. and San Francisco has been going on and building for decades but instead of depending on a few rescue missions to do what they do, the state and city governments should have formulated some plans very early on.

Sad to say that what “shoulda” and “coulda” woulda done, they didn’t and now probably can’t other than the option I gave in the first sentence.

I once saw the homeless in Vancouver. I'm not sure which side it was but it was awful.

The East side has been an issue for years ... mental illness, opioid addiction ,crime in general just a nasty place to live with Covid it's gotten worst there is housing in the works for the homeless but more support is definitely needed .

The housing developments in Chicago were impressive, high rise, brick structures which devolved into dangerous drug dealing embarrassments for the city. Just giving people things does not fix the problem and teaches them nothing. I wish we could teach self respect and the value of pride in work in school somehow, if it is not being taught in the home, but teachers can't do everything.
I do not need the stimulus checks and many don't who will be receiving them. If I did need the money, a few hundred dollars every few months would not really help. Too bad the government just throws money at problems without a thought.
Too bad I don't know the answer.
