What a shame. One great basketballer. Hopefully, all aboard did not suffer.

I'm not a sports fan, but like @Ken Anderson , I certainly knew who he was. One of the most famous athletes we've ever had.
    What a tragedy.

So saddened by this.....the world has truly lost one of the greats of basketball....my 12 year old granddaughter is very upset....she plays b-ball and watches NBA games all the time....she will now understand more of the truth of how all humans pass on when their time is up in no uncertain way, shape, form or age ....I luved b-ball as a kid....saw live games at Madison Square Garden a few times back in the 60's....

The news seems to be ignoring the fact that other people were on that helicopter and are just as dead as Kobe Bryant.

I wish light aircraft-helicopters would 'not' fly in dense fog - too many tragedies down to this fact alone
