Originated in: "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is a song credited to Lennon–McCartney that appears on the Beatles' 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. A line in the song goes, "The girl with kaleidoscope eyes".......... In 1967, my wife's brother, then 16, was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. He was hospitalized 4 months, so we became well aware of the seriousness of Colitis, and what-all it meant. My wife, then 20, very seriously asked me one day, after hearing that song being played repeatedly on the radio, how in the world could they play a song in which they sang of "The girl with colitis goes by"! She being European-born, only in America 3 years, had never heard of the word Kaleidoscope, but her rationale surely was right-on: They COULD have been saying "girl with colitis goes by"; the two sound so consistently similar. We laughed about it for years! My 2nd. wife even knows the story, though her view of it is a bit dimmer......Frank
@Chrissy Cross Reminds me of the Latino mother who gave birth to twin boys, naming one Jose, and the other "Hose B". Frank
