I have been taking one 140 mg pill per day for the past two years that I receive free of charge.I receive a four week supply by mail every month. I take the pill for a Blood Cancer Lymphoma. The pill will not cure my Lymphoma but it has done a fantastic job of controlling it. I receive the med free because my Oncologist made application with a Patient Advocate organization.. The RX must be MEANS TESTED because I had to submit a copy of my 1040 Tax Form with my doctors application. The RX would cost $70,000 yearly otherwise. I suspect that if my 1040 should a six digit income I might be paying the big price.
I really DO wish there was a method in a capitalist government to at least curb some of the gouging when it comes to medications. I do realize they have invested money in research, but they also can get grants and investors. The whole medicine costs are totally out of control! I watched a documentary on YouTube where Europeans were totally shocked at what we get charged for health care and medicine. It's robbery.
Prescriptions only...four ..one is inhaler and one 81mg aspirin. Then a one month pill for bones while on this Prednisone. I dont pay extra for meds, thru a Walmart. Mine are cheapie except for inhaler.
I take one pill for Rosacea, one pill for thyroid because it's gone, one pill as a blood thinner, one pill for my Lymphoma. two pills to regulate heart rate.
I take one med for cholesterol and an 81mg aspirin (found a source of chewables for 1ยข each.) Also take a daily multi-vitamin and CoQ10. I carry an EpiPen for deadly bee sting reaction (anaphylaxis.) THOSE have a high co-pay!!!! Years ago I was on a mega-supplement program. I bet I took 25-30 pills a day!!! It's been a while sine I've done that. My drug program currently costs me $11/month. Since I recently bought the Epi Pens, I wonder it the cost for my Part D plan will go up.
Ummm I wonder though...how many you really need. Only because sometimes doctors over medicate...but if your doing well that is all that mattrers
Gloria, I am a nurse and know what each one is for, so believe me if I thought I was being over medicated, you'd hear me in Brooklyn.
I take one, Lisinopril for blood pressure. It costs me $1.22 for 90 days from Express Scripts online.
Blood Pressure med, Diabetic II med and cholesterol med. All thru the VA, with a co-pay. The co-pay should change in the next few month, to no-pay, due to our income loss.
