    A C is better than a D.

I really hate A/C, but I use it to take the humidity out of the stuffy air. My pulmonologist told me yesterday that my last cat scan showed some emphysema along with my COPD, so if it gets oppressive with the heat and humidity, I turn it on. I can control the temp. so it is not all that bad. My O/2 saturation has been a steady 96-98 daily which is good. I do my breathing exercises and am ok.

I was reading on another forum that a poster was having central a/c problems and called a repairman. He advised her that her 25-year old system needed replacing, but there were no new units available and NO replacement parts!!! If our a/c goes out, I'll be moving to a hotel for the summer.

I live on one of hottest continents on our planet. God only knows how our forebears coped in the old days even before fans let alone a/c. I am speaking of those on the land where temps can get to or even above 110F in the shade during summer. Australia's hottest ever day was in Oodnadatta, South Australia on Jan 2, 1960..with the mercury climbing to a steaming 123F. No a/c around then.

Finally got around to getting the air conditioner looked at. We tolerated an almost record streak of 90 plus days, with out it. Mainly due to procrastination. We never have servicemen in our home, but AC work is something I can't do myself. More wicked hot temps in the offing.
Called yesterday he was here about noon today, 90 minutes and $149.00 later we were chillin!!!!!
