Do you remember Horehound Candies? They are an old-fashioned hard candy made from mixing an infusion from the horehound herb with other ingredients, formed into a lozenge, and coated with sugar.

I didn't like horehound candies much when I was a kid but I didn't hate them. Since my dad liked them, they were often the only candies we had in the house, so I ended up eating them a lot.

It's been many years since I've had a horehound candy, but I remember them having a strange, almost bitter taste, so that I couldn't decide whether I liked it or not.

They are still available, but not in the grocery stores like they used to be.

Nope I don't remember that candy, but I remember Luden's cough drops and they tasted like candy so I ate them (especially the cherry flavored) even when I didn't have a cough. And I remember back then you could suck on them in school too for your cough...so I had a lot of coughs in school :)

I remember them, one of my uncles kept them in his house but I can't remember the taste.

I never knew what they were called but I remember the look of the candy though. One of many that was in candy dishes around my grandparents house. I would pop one in my mouth just for the sugar coating :D.
