Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiian prayer to God, Brahman, the Universe, or whatever name is used for the ultimate higher power. The most famous user of Ho'oponopono was Dr. Hew Len. He worked at a Hawaiian State Hospital in the high security ward for the criminally insane from 1983 to 1987. Before Dr. Len worked there, the mental ward was in chaos with violent brawls between the patients and the staff. The mental ward was so destructive and dangerous that the staff would go on sick-leave much of the time.

Then, Dr. Hew Len was hired as the head psychologist and given carte blanche to use whatever method he chose. He was different from all the preceding doctors who had quit. Dr. Len did not use standard therapy on the patients. He never even talked to the patients. Instead, he would remain in his office throughout the day, read a patient’s file, empathize deeply with the person, and then use ho’oponopono. Whatever he did began to work. Things started to change in the mental ward. The prisoners and staff began to get along with each other. The inmates became much less destructive and the ward began to heal.

Dr. Hew Len worked in the mental ward for almost four years using only ho'oponopono for therapy. During that period, prisoners were cured and gradually released. Eventually, the few inmates left were transferred to other wards. As a result, the criminally insane mental ward was closed in 1987.

After leaving the state hospital, Dr. Hew Len became a world renowned spiritual healer. He traveled the world teaching Ho’oponopono. He retired in 2015 and died in early 2022.

Wonder if we all got together to use that good energy, if there would be hope for the country.

Dr. Len always worked alone, so I'm not sure if a group would work. However, a group of 100 or more people might work using another phenomenon called "The 100th Monkey Effect". Have you ever heard of the 100th monkey effect?

It is not about prayer, but rather about how a new idea can spread quickly through society. Here is a brief explanation. The hundredth monkey effect is a hypothetical phenomenon in which a new behavior or idea is spread rapidly by unexplained means from one group to all related groups once a critical number of members of one group exhibit the new behavior or acknowledge the new idea.
