I ordered my husband the above digital magnifier for Christmas. It was finally delivered yesterday and when I checked out the contents of the package this morning I found a plug in battery recharger. The only problem with this is it looks like this:
BS_4573_shaver_plug_compared_to_Europlug.jpg and my outlet does not have rounded holes for it to plug in to. I sent an email to the Company I purchased it from but in the meantime can anyone tell me if the plug they sent me is for use in America?

That wouldn't fit anything I have. Aren't European plugs rounded?

I've been doing some research and it seems that European plugs are rounded. So I'm trying to figure out why they sent me this kind since I live in the US.

I ordered this through Walmart...so if there is something funny here....Walmart is going to fix it for me!

Yes, that is a Europe plug. You can find a travel adapter at walgreens , Walmart, etc. for a small amount.

Found this at Walmart, 3 of them for $1.59
    Hope this helps

Thanks @Tim Burr I am hoping the Company I bought from will make this right...but if not then I might be able to get Walmart to send me the above and hopefully for free since I bought my husband's gift through Walmart. :)

It wouldn't fit in any sockets here in the UK apart from shaving sockets in the bathroom, but it would fit in our house in Spain

That is really strange that they would send that kind of charger to anywhere in the US.

To run our electronics when we moved to the UK, we bought converters for the TV and computer.
Stepped down the voltage from 220 to 110.

Had one in the living room, one in the bed rooms. It didn't change the Hertz so some of the stuff on our old
desktop computer ran slow, but it did the job.
We could only use our American TV for VHS tapes, but good enough for the youngest to watch his
    favorite movies.

You would buy converters from G.I.'s leaving the UK and sold them when you were leaving.
    Same with cars.

I've just never had anything like this happen before and I'm disappointed that I can't even show my husband his gift until I get this straightened out. :(

I used converters when we lived in Hungary but can't remember the details.

I do know I blew a vacuum cleaner with using the US one with a European converter or I bought back a Hungarian vacuum cleaner and used it with a US adapter.

I tried not to take anything electric or bring back anything electric but my system wasn't perfect.

The nice thing about modern electronics, almost all can be operated on either voltage,
either automatically or with a switch.
With cell phones, tablets or laptops, you are charging the battery with low voltage converters.
( USB cord or laptop converters )

Not like in the 80's when we lived overseas.

I have a 'junk' drawer with a lot of different plugs, to run in any country I might wind up in.:)

It was the late 90's when I was in Europe and I did have a cell phone and that was actually my first one...think it was a Nokia if I remember correctly.

Seems everyone in Hungary had them before they became popular in the states. not sure why though.

Since this item was not sold by Walmart, my wife thinks the company that does sell it only had these type of plugs left. The item was on sale, so perhaps they are trying to liquidate it. The item has got a 3-hour charge to it, so having the correct plug to recharge it is important. I'd just buy the U.S. adapter and use that.
