I don't know what to suggest. That error message is one that is displayed when the browser does not have a connection with the site. The forum is up and running, my downtime reporter is reporting no downtime, and I am able to access it without trouble. The only thing I can think of is to empty or refresh your browser cache, or try another browser.
Looking at the time Arlene posted that, I happened to be on the phone with a friend around that time, and he was having trouble accessing his internet and also news sites. I don't know who Arlene has as her provider (my friend has Charter), but perhaps there was an issue with her provider or with specific sites, whether due to weather, attack, or for some other reason.
I was having trouble last night about that same time, too. Not with the forum, it was working fine; but I was trying to access the city of Huntsville , parks and recreation dept. webpage, and I could not get anything related to the city of Huntsville to even load. I was not getting the error message, it just wouldn't load. I didn't check the dns attack page to see if we were having more attacks than usual; but it might have been either that or some other kind of service provider problem. Hopefully, everything is working okay for @Arlene Richards again by now, too ?
Yes, a glitch in the connections anywhere between your Internet service provider and the computers that the site is hosted on can cause that. You might be in Florida, and the site might be hosted in California, but a problem with a hub in St. Louis or anywhere along the way can cause that.
Still having the problem - only on this site. I've had the problem for several days. Tried various remedies, nothing has helped. The home page and forums page will not load at all.
What am I missing? You're able to post here so you're able to connect to the site. There's nothing unusual about the home page or the forums page that would make them any different than any other page.
@Arlene Richards Your frustration with this thread became pronounced when you provided the link today. I remember this threads, and wondered a week ago, what had been resolved, if anything. Frank
