I only got the idea to try to find a Senior forum this evening, and this site seems to be what I'm looking for. I don't see a 'newbie' greeting area, but if I've missed it please excuse my mistake ! .... I'm here in a small town about 20 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh .... Zelienople Pa. I've purchased a 40 foot furnished trailer recently and moved onto my son's property .. it was in a supreme effort to escape a Senior 'madhouse' apartment complex right in the middle of the town , and boy do I feel better for the new home and the sanctity of my own family member's land.

I was a 'late bloomer' in one way or another all of my life, and now it has begun to cause a critical and complicated series of feelings, as my mind feels like a 35 year old trapped in this 70 year old body, lol .. I have always enjoyed large cruiser motorcycles and recently acquired a V Star 1100. I'd love to solve the emptiness that being 'single' has caused for the last 5 years .... Pretty long message for an opening greeting I guess ... I hope Holly Saunders doesn't mind being the 'participant' that the forum seems to want in order to start a first post ...... I didn't know who I could send it to ! (Thank you Holly in advance ) I just found this 'intro' segment so I typed this opener again .... Thanks all for reading this,
    Mike Santi

Welcome to the forum, @Michael Santi ! I am sure that it is much quieter at your son's property than at a large apartment complex in Pittsburg, and that sounds like it was a wise decision for you.
I can relate to the feeling of having a young mind trapped into an older body (one that is wearing out ), and I think that most of us here feel like that is what has happened to us. We have had several discussions about this kind of thing, and no longer being able to do the things that we used to do and love doing.
For me, it was living in the country and riding my horses; and I can see that you would feel the same way about riding your motorcycle. Both my oldest son and my daughter have motorcycles, and they love riding them, and often post pictures of their exploration expeditions on Facebook.
The forum is pretty straightforward; but there is a Help section at the top where you can post questions if you are not sure how something works.

Welcome @Michael Santi :) You'll find a lot of other "35 year old minds" here so you should feel right at home.

Downsizing is a good thing to do as you get older, and finding a place of peace that you can call Home Sweet Home is also a blessing. There's enough noise and chaos in the World now days, we sure don't need that where we live too.

There's lots of different opinions here on many topics so I'm sure you will find some things of interest to you. And if you don't see a topic you are interested in, then please start that topic so we can share with you on that too.

Hope you enjoy your new Home Michael and hope you find a home here with us too. :)

Welcome to the forum @Michael Santi, I grew up in Pittsburgh but it's been a long time since I've been there.

I lived in Brookline if you know where that is.

    Welcome Michael,

I haven't been around for awhile, but that first line in your 2nd paragraph sort of sums up how I feel today. Also, living in an apartment complex I can relate to. Glad you have found some peace with a place on family's property.

This is a good forum, and if I am in the mood to participate in one, this is it;) A place to come "where everybody knows your fake-name" although your's looks real;) Denise
