I keep being asked by Google to try 'Google chrome' Does anyone here use it ? If so - any good or better ?
It's a good browser, Patsy. I have used it extensively in the past when Firefox was having problems. I still have it loaded and use it occasionally. I presume it is like other Google products and tracks my every keystroke, but then they all do nowadays. How good or bad a browser is is mostly personal preference.
I switched to Chrome a year or two ago, maybe longer. At the time, it seemed like Chrome was simpler and much faster than Internet Explorer/Edge. I still have IE and Edge, but only use them if I'm having problems and want to determine if it's Chrome related. They still seem slower to me. Haven't tried any others.
I used Chrome and found images on the screen to be jumpy when scrolling which is why quit. I use FF because of smooth scrolling.
I prefer Safari. One of the websites that I visit for Rxs doesn't like Safari so I use Firefox for that.
Safari is what comes on the Apple devices, so that is what we use all of the time, and with no problems. The only exceptions would be that my Kindle has the Silk browser (which I seldom use), and the Dell XPS18 has the Microsoft Edge, which works okay for whatever I do with the Dell. Mostly, I just use it when I am watching a YouTube video, so not a real challenge there, either. When I had the Chromebook, it had Google Chrome installed, and it worked just fine for me, too. I guess, as long as it gets me to the website I want to go to, it doesn’t much matter to me which one I use.
I keep my chrome browser handy as I use it for some sites. Especially those my son has on his business account.
Of the browsers that I have tried, which are several, I suppose Google Chrome would be my second favorite. However, I don't need two, and I prefer Safari, so I seldom use Chrome. A couple of decades ago, it really made a big difference which browser you used, but standardization has come a long way since then and one browser isn't really much different from another anymore.
