After my knee surgery I got a bill from the hospital for $1288.00. That didn't sound bad at all since I knew medicare had paid $26,000 and I didn't know how much my supplement had paid. So, I sent the hospital a check for the $1288.00. It turns out that was the amount the insurance paid, I just got the bill before the hospital got the insurance check. In the mail today I got a refund from the hospital for $1288.00 So far my knee surgery has cost me nothing except less than $100 for drugs.
