Japan Tested Atomic Bomb in NK Before End of WWII?
New evidence of Japan's effort to build atom bomb at the end of WWII

It is often debated as to the necessity of bombing Japan, but we will probably never know all the factors being weighed at that point in history.

It has been long assumed that it was using the bomb or a costly invasion. What seems so odd about the debate was the U.S. requiring an unconditional surrender for months and Japan requiring the Emporer remain in place. Yet the U.S. finally accepted the Japanese position after dropping the bombs and then calling it an unconditional surrender.

they were trying to develop one with the help of the Nazi's who were going down in flames. story goes what was left of Hitler's supply of Uranium was shipped by submarine to Japan along with advisers. detonation. there was a story they did test fire one. it's about 45 mins

if Truman does does not drop em millions of live would be lost in the invasion. after the war if grieving families find out he had this weapon and didn't use it, he, Truman would be impeached. I think Cordell Hull told him that.
the Emperor was allowed to stay for law and order. most wanted a rope around his neck.

The narrative taught in school or at least the way I remember it... "Americans were far superior intelligent beings and were able to develop something no one else could and if it had not been for traitorous Americans, the Soviets would never have developed theirs".

Yet history indicates that refugees from Hitler's Europe were instrumental in not only the development of the bomb, but persuading Roosevelt to start the Manhattan project in the first place. IF Hitler wasn't such a bigot, history might have been quite different, imo.
