BEAR … !!!! We had a huge black bear come nosing around today.. It was looking for food but found nothing around here.. it left and hasn't returned...……..….. yet..
You got your shot gun handy ,Steve. . i think you told me once you have eaten Bear meat,? correct me if im wrong...
Yes Louise I like bear meat and I have eaten it often.. Not a shotgun but something much more powerful for bears.. Like a 303.. This bear isn't doing any harm.. it is only looking for food which it won't find here.. We only shoot bears when they are a nuisance or aggressive.. NEVER just to shoot them..
We had the biggest stumpy tail blue tongue lizard waddle right past out back door a few days ago @Craig Wilson We have a fairly large verandah off the back of the house 14x 4 mtrs with blinds so it’s kinda fully enclosed so I don’t know where it came from. Like this non Aussies
Craig..... NO grizzlies in Ontario.. Only out west on the Rockies.. We only have black bears.. No lizards either..
I wouldn’t even know the difference in a grizzly bear and a black bear Steve ....at a guess I’d think the Grizzly would be a larger more ferocious bear and more likely to kill a human
looks like a little lizzard to me, we have a variety of lizzards but not the size of the one you have there , Kate!! ours are small and they can move very fast!! usually they run the other way too..
Steve, i saw on tv , a lady that has been feeding a big ole hippo!! was in some foreign land someplace. . i saw it on facebook or tv i think..
The only ones I have are the little bluetail lizard. If you scare them much, they shed their tails and grow new ones. I don't have any hippos at all.
Louise.. I must inform you that we don't have very many hippos up here in Massey.. Anyone that feeds any wild animal is asking for trouble.. They can fend for themselves..
The sleepy’s as we refer to them are harmless , @Louise Miller I believe they can bite if provoked but generally very slow moving / eat lots of different stuff .snails ..human food ..fruit .. We often see them laying on the side of the road on the warm bitumen in early spring , of course lots get run over crossing the road most drivers will try to ovoid them in the road but you always get the idiots who will run over them cause they can . We never see the in the cooler months cause they are much like snakes and hibernate They range in sizes and grow to about Foot long , I believe they choose a mate and have that mate for life and of either dies they don’t ever seek another mate. There is a very similar lizard as well but it has a longer tail https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiliqua_rugosa
