Craig and Kate, I think most of the damage from settlement was from Europeans bringing diseases that the natives had never been exposed to. I know that measles wiped out a lot of Native Americans.

Very true Shirley. Yes indigenous natives had no resistance to western diseases. But that is in addition to the attempted deliberate eradication of entire races on both continents.

We often have fires in the U.S. too,,usually West of us..near the Pacific Ocean.. lots of nuts there!!,, California and Washington..

We are careful the barbie is under the back verandah .,they cook meat on barbie but we eat inside ..lotsa bugs around at moment cause we had almost a inch of MOST WELCOME rain yesterday ...our tanks were getting dry
Yep,we have town water but I prefer to water my fruit trees with rainwater that way they are completely chemical free
