Suppose this should be in a garden section ...but I don’t know where that is ...
I bought a couple of little Perennial leeks to plant yesterday they put our baby ones once established so you never have to buy them again as you keep planting out the baby ones so you have a crop of leeks that can be used as spring onions all year round
Did you know if you use / buy spring onions when you cut the bottom off, plant it and in no time you will have new spring onions growing again

Kate, I never heard of silver beet. Do you eat the leaves or the bulb? We grow red beets. The leaves are edible but most people grow them for the bulbs (roots).

Here are my spring onions grown from just planting the root part of the onions
I pulled out 4 to use yesterday and cut the roots off and replanted again before taking the onions inside to wash / use

    Shirley....
Yellow tomatoes have low acid and they are sweeter than the red ones.. I like the grape ones and every time I pass by the garden on my tractor, I grab a handful to nibble on..
We also have the red ones as well but they take a bit longer to grow.. We plant beefsteak tomatoes and they are not bad...

Well, I still say tomatoes are supposed to be red!:D And corn is supposed to be yellow! Oh, well, corn is better if it's yellow and white mixed, like Ambrosia corn.

I walked around the yard today just looking at things. It's the first day that the pollen has been low enough to do that without a mask. My cherry tree is going to have a good crop. My blueberries are loaded. The blackberry bush is only so so. I think I need to fertilize it. The bluebirds have laid five eggs in one house. I didn't check the others.

    Good night, everyone.

    good night Shirley..

I also went for a walk around our garden today and discovered that both of my raised gardens have had it.. They both need to be replaced and very soon in order for me to plant something.. They are about 14 years old and I made them with regular wood, not pressure treated wood..
The new ones will be a bit bigger than these..
These are 13 feet long by 3 feet wide and 2 feet high..
The new ones, I will make from 2 X 4 X 16feet which means the gardens will be 16 feet long and 4 feet wide and still 2 feet high..
I will be ordering the wood next Monday... 60 pieces of wood 2X4X16.... Not pressure treated.. Pine wood...
it will take me about a full week to built them..
