I did the inside today... it took me about 4 hours but I gave 2 coats almost everywhere except the floor which I did a bit heavy.. One coat..
It took 2 cans of stain, each can is 4L which means I used up 8L of stain.. The balcony is 20 feet long by 8 feet wide with a trellis fence on 3 sides... The trim was long to do, but I can now say.............................. ITS ALL OVER..... I DID IT !!!!!

Boy,............. am I ever tired, pooped, and sore almost all over..
It was a hot day with the temperature around the 32c mark.. That's why it dried pretty fast..
I used a stain and not a paint.. it is in Ranch Red which is the same colour as it was before..

That was quite a big area to get done in just 4 hours, albeit Stain... you did well Kemosabe.. :D...Not surprised you're sore... We did a whole load of painting , staining and making new doors for the sheds and new wooden trellis'es and staining them & hanging them at the weekend.. My back is still killing me even now!!

    Take a well earned rest!!

Today is a day off.. Annmarie has an appointment to have her toenail looked at.. I think it is ingrown.. Let a specialist take care of it, not me.. This appointment is in Espanola which is 35 minutes from our house..
While there, I will do some grocery shopping, go for coffee at MacDonald's, and just enjoy the change..
Come home early and cook a really nice meal.. Relax in front of the new TV with the sound bar and hit the hay a bit on the early side..
Thursday its back to work outside if it doesn't rain or inside things if it rains..

I had a similar day ( sans the toenail)... lunch with my friend and lots of shopping (supermarket and other stuff)... very tiring day, town was super busy, hard to park, shop shelves empty of stock wherever we went ( very irritating)..long queues with only one cashier serving .. I was very glad to get home!!o_O

Her toe was fixed pretty fast and simply..
We then went for coffee and then did some food shopping..
a day off was needed and appreciated..
Tomorrow back to working outside and most likely digging up trees again..

Well it's been a gloriously sunny and hot day. It's the start of the long Bank holiday weekend (4days) here so all the motorways are jammed solid with people going to the beach or trips, or to the airports... I had to go into town to collect some stuff , and the traffic reporter on the radio was talking about just about every motorway had long delays on them. We never ever go away on a public holiday, for that very reason, it's a nightmare. ..altho' my husband is not got the time off, he's at work until midnight tonight

However, on the return from town, I drove around my neighbourhood , to take some photos because it was such a beautiful day and we've had horrible weather this August , and no chance to really get out much, because on the very few dry days we've had we've worked in the garden making new fences and shed doors !

It was like there had been an apocalypse today ..hardly a car to be seen on any of our neighbourhood roads... everybody clearly gone away . A Friday is usually the busiest day of the week for traffic, but not today, it was wonderfully quiet...

I took some photos then took a walk through the woods near my house ..again not even a dog walker to be seen...fantastic!!

I'm gonna post some photos of my surroundings on another photo thread.. but here's a couple from this afternoon...

I'll let you know when I've posted the rest...

This week-end is the busiest week-end of the year here in our village..
It is the annual agricultural fair in Massey.. It is the largest fair in the north of Ontario..
Our village has a population of just under 1000 people, however the fair draws up to 12,000 visitors.. Can you imagine the chaos in our poor small quiet village over the next few days ???

Cattle Show, Small Livestock, Poultry, Heavy Horse Draw, Western Horse Show, Live Entertainment, Fiddlers, Singers, Step-dancers, Parade, Agricultural & Home Craft Exhibits, Fire Truck Pulls, Midway, Non-denominational Church Service, Vendor Booths, Food Concessions, Mining Competition, Demolition Derby, Remote Control Vehicles, Blacksmith, Celebrity Racing Pigs,

Can you imagine the $$$$ spent in our village over the next few days ??????

It's a holiday weekend here Steve, every village has got some kind of fete on... There's a tiny village about 15 miles from here which we love, but the Fete is going to be huge with steam trains , horses, dog shows and all the stalls etc... and we'd love to go but because the village is so tiny, there's hardly anywhere to park...so it's not worth going!!

Also the big Vintage Car rally is on too... but we've visited that a couple of times in the past, once you've seen them, nothing is different each year!
