I had a friend send me a bottle from kelowna BC.. because I thought it might taste better than what we buy here..but nope.. it tasted the damn same...
NO syrup ( not for me)..hubs likes maple syrup... or honey.. but not me.. I prefer raisin pancakes with just butter on them ..and waffles with egg on them...
On my pancakes I like brown sugar that is low carb.. Also some pancake syrup that is sugar free.. Maple syrup is great as a treat, but I don't want in the house as I will go nuts and finish it in no time... Remember, it is readily available up here as this is where it is made...Also very cheap....
Speaking of pancakes, I made pancakes for breakfast today... I added a mashed banana to the mixture..
I've never tried that, Steve. I bet it would be good. How ripe should the bananas be? If nothing changes, we are going to the mountains the last week of April to go trout fishing. How many trout do y'all want? We went fishing weekend before last and I caught some nice saltwater catfish. I cooked some filets for supper one night and GS said they were the best fish he ever ate.
Shirley... it really doesn't matter as you will mash it anyway.. Actually the riper the banana the sweeter it is, but don't go to the all black ones that are rotten... When you go trout fishing, what kind of trout is it ?? I used to go for rainbows and they were almost the best of all.. Catfish was also among the best fish.. Walleye was also good.. Musky is very hard to beat as far as taste goes......
I got my martin gourds cleaned out yesterday and today. GS just came in from work. I need to go help him put the poles back up. I'll be back. Don't y'all go away. Six of them had to be thrown away. Now I have to go buy some more and get them ready.
We had to toss one of my 2 gourds out but now have one left and it is being occupied, not sure what kind of bird a small brown bird,,
Steve, I'll catch whatever fish bites my bait. I hope I catch some rainbow trout. @Louise Williams , do you want me to buy some gourds for you when I buy mine? I'll even make the holes in them for you. They'll be lighter that way and it won't cost as much to mail them. I'm a thrifty girl. If the bird nesting in your gourd is a tiny brown bird, it's probably a cheerful little wren.
Yep, Steve, I make holes in clean them out, make holes in them, paint them, hang them on poles and the martins nest in them. I love the sounds they make. I wish I could show y'all a video here. The bird in this picture is a great crested flycatcher. She decided to nest in one of the gourds one year.
How interesting... They look like hollowed out squash... We have wooden birdhouses up here but not very many as the bears come around and eat the seeds...
