We are off to some friends house for another Thanksgiving dinner tonight.. Personally, I'm pretty all turkey'd out.. I hope there won't be another turkey dinner, but one must be gracious and polite when invited out...
A belated Happy Thanksgiving, Steve. Sounds like it was great. I hear you about the turkey. I like turkey but we can never eat all of it. I freeze some of it for later but after it stays in the freezer for more than a week or so, it gets an off taste to it. I wind up throwing some of it away. I take it that the snow held off until they left?
LOL Shirley about the snow.. Not just yet, but it will be here within the next few weeks.. I don't put my snow tires on till it is really winter because the first snowfall always melts and it isn't necessary to have the tires on just yet..... My tractor is still out and I haven't finished winterizing the outside of the house yet.. Putting away the patio furniture, the summer ornaments, and taking in ALL the plants that can be saved.. I still have some carrots in the garden to be picked and then the garden must be turned and weeded.. We had standing roast beef for the meal that we were invited out to.. What a change from turkey..
Turkey casserole with a ton of veggies for supper tonight.. I still have enough turkey left over for ONE more meal...
Steve, have you had a turkey, lettuce and tomato sandwich? That's my favorite way to eat leftover turkey. We are having the remnants of Hurricane Michael now and tonight. If you ever need a rainy day, I can send you one today.
Our power just went off. It's back on right now but who knows for how long. The ground is super saturated and we are having gusty winds. It won't take much to blow trees down over power lines. If I go away, never fear, I will be back …. sometime.
If you go away, you will be missed till you return.. For goodness sake Shirley............. PLEASE take care and don't try to be a hero.. We still need you on here ...
We survived. LOL We had some really fierce winds for about an hour. They were stronger than the winds we had during Hurricane Florence. I lost some tree limbs but I think they were already dead limbs. The power was off and on many times during the night even after the wind calmed down. Today is a perfect October day. Sunny and cool. I have my windows and doors open for the first time since last fall. My son picked up the tree limbs: That's not all of them. He had already picked up some of them.
@Holly Saunders , Bubba is here and he wants me to go outside and let him play. So I'll see y'all later.
We had very strong winds yesterday...and same today but to a little bit lesser degree... Lots of tree branches down, and people's fences.. No damage to our thank the Lord!!
