I do. My wife's "digital shopping" whatcha-maycallit, at Smith's (Kroger), always produces some item for free. Today's was a small package of M & Ms; I hadn't eaten one in perhaps 60 years! The commercials for them back then proclaimed they "Melt in your mouth, not in your hand"! My dad always said that was because they were coated with Varnish!

Today, I opened the package, and out tumbled several of the once-familiar little candies, much more brightly colored than I remembered them, red, blue, black, yellow, so then I read the label. TEN different artificial colorings used! Several are the same color, reds, yellows.

    Safe to eat? Frank

The coloring is probably not any worse (or any better) for a person than the candies themselves are, in my opinion, @Frank Sanoica . There has been a lot of negative information about the artificial colors that are used in foods, and I do think that they are not a good choice.
We get the Free Friday Downloads from Kroger, too, and when it is some kind of candy, or other item we know is unhealthy, I just don’t get it that week, and it does seem like a lot of the time, it is some sort of candy or sweets that they are promoting.
Most of our shopping is done from the “outside aisles” , which is where the fresh foods are located, and very little canned, frozen, or otherwise processed foods.
Bobby eats a lot of bread, and also likes canned lunch meat (Spam), and there are a few other items that we purchase that probably have food coloring in them, but by buying just the plain fresh foods, we miss most of it.
