Hey friends...If you've never heard Harry Belafonte perform that great Old Testament story of Noah and the Ark, then go to YouTube and type "Harry Belafonte Noah".

This is very powerful stuff! Select the illustrated version among the several offered, (1956 recording), and play it LOUD!

    "Who built the Ark?

    "Noah"

    "Yeah, Noah built that Ark!"

I generally do not enjoy Religious Hymns, however I find Ave Maria and some Gregorian Chanting to be very soothing to my ear.

Wife and I love Christmas Hymns on the radio or at church during the Christmas Season. Other than that, it's older Country, as in Garth Brooks, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt and others from that era. It's some Oldies and Motown and sometimes a lot of Classic Rock.

I listen to gospel music on a regular basis when I'm working in the office or sometime on Sunday mornings? Most what's referred to as Christian music, I don't like and therefore don't listen.

The most meaningful hymns for me are: "In The Garden", "Jerusalem", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Eternal Father Strong to Save", and the Schubert version of "Ave Maria".

    Most of the others stink.

I really enjoy most kinds of Christian religious hymns, as well as the newer choruses that are commonly sung in some of the newer churches.
Since I grew up mostly going to an old-time Pentecostal church, I learned to sing the old, classical hymns from the hymn book. I still love singing those old hymns; but after I was older, I started going to a Christian Center church, and we sang a few of the old hymns; but mostly they put the songs up on the white board, and we sang from those.
Some of those songs are basically singing Psalms, or other Bible passages, and i really, really enjoy that.
The one church that I went to before I met Bobby and got married, also had home meetings and Bible study on Friday nights, and I would take my Omnichord along to the meetings for when we sang.
One of the other members played the guitar, and we would practice together the songs we were going to sing that night, and that was the music we had to go with our songs.

Praise and worship time have always been my favorite part of the church service. Here is one of the praise songs we used to sing that I really love singing (but never knew the words and just sang the parts i could understand).
