When a member is placed on "ignore" by another, does the ignored's existence simply disappear from the ignorer's view?

Are conversations to the ignorer also blocked?

    Another new imponderable for me.

I am better off keeping my mouth shut, it seems!

I am not 100% certain that what I am about to say is correct but I believe that being ignored applies to your reponses to the individual who initiated the action and not everyone else's. Ex. if you responded to a post of that individual they wouldn't receive notice that you responded but your post would not be rejected. Similar to freedom of speech. You can be heard by others just not that individual.
