Here in Britain our House of Commons has thirty bars serving subsidised booze. There have been some disgraceful events involving politicians being drunk. If hospitals had bars and surgeons slipped out for a couple of pints there would be riots. My question is, why have alcohol in the House of Commons? If they are allowed to keep the bars for entertaining why not have random breathalysing. A car driver is punished for drink driving. Politicians can start wars, spend millions wastefully when voting, (possibly drunk.) What's it like in America?
Oh they drink....more so in the corporate apartments they use with their paid escorts. Regardless much of their escapdes are covered up.
If you are asking do our politicians drink on "duty", the answer is yes. I don't know if teetotalers would make better leaders. Drug usage, however, would be another question.
I still contend that all of congress, the judiciary and executive branches need to submit to a U/A once a month and have to blow each time they go through the security entrance. But then, if the members of congress had to submit to an alcohol test (blow) before a vote, it would just be another tactic used to delay yet another proposed bill.
I think almost all our government officials are "drugged up" on their drug of choice...especially at work. That would definitely explain all the craziness going on in our government!
