Yes, He does have a sense of humor and shows it to us often.
Sorry Denise, I'm off my ipad at night, no exceptions. I get on at 4:00am and by dinner time I've had it.
Also, I have decided to avoid the religious threads.
I believe God has a sense of humor.
Ok you brats, behave yourselves. When in Rome, and all that ....
I've been giving it some more thought, and I think humor is everywhere, if we'll just see it. @Babs Hunt showed a very good representation of natures way of showing us this very thing.
Now I don't think God/Creator laughs "at" me/us, that is generally done with at least a bit of malice in it. But I learned a long time ago that you can not teach what you don't know. And, I think we were meant to learn how to find the humor within our own lives, so as not to take ourselves too seriously.
If I could not see the humor in the way much of my life has turned out, I wouldn't have gotten very far. Instead, I will look at my situation, and say to myself, "Well ok there now, that was fun", (or not), and I'll look around for another oppertunity or way to deal with whatever. I've learned much this way.
Many of us will list a sense of humor high on a list of desired qualities that we wish to see in another, and I personally don't think that is by chance.
I know we all rub each other the wrong way sometimes, but a little humor in how we present ourselves and our thoughts go a long way in learning to accept each other's differences.
Because @Bobby Cole , and the way he uses his humor, I can set and listen to him tell me about his God/Creator, "and hear him", instead of shutting down.
I think you shared some real wisdom here @Ina I. Wonder. Christians or believers are commanded by Jesus to share His "Good News" but we are not commanded to shove it down others throats, try to scare it into them, or even tell them they have to believe it. To me it is a seed we plant in others hearts only if their heart is open to having that seed planted. Some of us are more gifted with a green thumb in this than others like @Bobby Cole.
I hear you Ina, especially that last part hit me. It's how a person teaches, not how much they know (or think they know). I love to listen to certain people because they have the "gift" you might say, of capturing a person or persons attention. And yes, for me, if there is some good humor thrown in, it makes me want to come back for more
I would have joined in the ark for some fun but it was only two at a time
Yeah, and where were you Chrissy, could have used your help. I was behaving myself, going around looking at topics, and there he was! And me all by myself to try and keep the thread on course:
The SOC Ark has room for all Terry
I'm never on at night, Denise. If you need my help it's gotta be during the day. I'm a reverse vampire.
So not reversible just in reverse, LOL! Ok, I'm going to quit being naughty on Ina's thread and go find some other thread to wreak havoc in, just kidding. I never do these things on porpoise, I mean, well, ok, I admit it. I forgot what the thread was about I got so carried away. Guilty as charged. See you later tater!! Denise
You and I are both bad about that.
There should be a way to cut and paste bits of off topic sections of threads into a section titled Utter Chaos
That's good to know Denise
Now there's an idea Terry That could be a lot of work for Ken, but maybe move them too a board called that, or just move them to off topic, LOL! Ok, I'm really not going to post anymore here Ina. Not unless it has to do with your topic, huggies, denise
OK but the title did have the word Humor in it so we were not so far off topic
Ok, @Sifu Phil Bonifonte , @Denise Happyfeet , @Terry Page , And you too @Chrissy Page , Thanks for the levity. You guys crack me up. You four just have a way of cheering me up. You are always welcome to my threads.
Yes, we are well known thread hijackers. Although I have been trying to be on my best behavior on this forum.
I try to stop my shenanigans when I picture Ken shaking his head in disapproval.
Well, I think it depends on what we consider God having a sense of humor. I do tend to agree with the person who quoted that saying "If you want to see God laugh tell him your plan." Sometimes the way we have mapped out our lives doesn't coincide to what God may want of us. So, despite those plans our course can be changed by things happening. Sometimes those things aren't good, and God certainly isn't responsible for the horrible things even if there are some who want to say if there is a God why did he let this happen? As if God is going to sit back and fix all the horrible things that happen in the world, if that happened what would we learn. What God has to do is make us realize that through a negative we can turn it into a positive and maybe take the course we were meant to take in our lives by turning it around,
think God has a sense of humor. Laughter is a precious gift that makes the bitter a bit sweeter. I've seen people find something to laugh about in the most dire situations..and those around them were comforted beyond measure...including me.
I think making each other laugh is so important..there's enough sorrow to go around...
I agree about laughter, Karen. I remember that even on the day my husband was dying and hospice and nurses were coming and going, my friend could still make me laugh on such a sad day.
I always like to wake up with some laughter
