Seventh Day Adventists and Jews come to mind. Anyone else?

Besides the Adventists, there are Seventh-day Baptists, Seventh-day Pentecostals, and some of the Churches of God. The church that I attend when I am up north meets on Saturdays, but that's not a religious thing. The pastor once had two churches, one meeting on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

Lon, my curiosity can, and definitely sometimes does, get me into trouble. Be "curious" about the wrong things and folks will criticize the heck out of you.

See, Lon. You've already been asked "why?" by two members in this thread.

Not totally sure, but it's obvious your asking something that some are wonder "why" about. I told you that "curiosity" can, and sometimes definitely does, get a person in trouble.

Lon, that's why I done a topic/thread once on this forum, asking what's appropriate and not appropriate as a thread topic. Some don't care, while others will say "why are you asking?". I've had that done to me.

You aren't in trouble, but your question could be. Lon, you have to understand, there are certain questions people will ask and others will answer with "why are you asking this?". And, when you say "my old curious nature", you could easily be told, as I have, "don't be so curious".

IOW, Ken is the only one that has really given you an answer.

Other than wondering what any of this has to do with worshipping on Saturday, I don't see any reason to get involved here. Does anyone have anything to say about worshipping on Saturday rather than Sunday?

I hope its o.k. for me to bring this up, but it relates to the discussion.

As Paul said in Acts 17:22: "Ye men of Athens, in all things I perceive that ye are very religious." So this is my feeling of those on this forum also, not only the believers, but those of you who're not.

I was just wondering if someone would like to answer the question: Why did the custom of all those Israelis in the old testament to worship on Saturday, suddenly change to a Sunday in the new testament, beginning in Acts when they met on the first day of the week in their homes? (I know most of you know, so let some others give answer, such as Lon)

I don't know and have no answer. I am totally ignorant about the Bible & scripture. I was just remembering my Jewish playmates that did not join playing with me on their Sabbath.

I was raised in a Pentecostal church, which believes in having church on Sunday. However, I went to a Seventh Day Adventist school from first-fifth grade, and often went to that church on Saturday during the later grades.
I think that since Jesus himself kept the Sabbath (Saturday) , and never suggested that we should keep any other weekday as holy, that this is probably the actual correct day that Christians should keep holy, and if they go to church, then that would be the day to do that as well.

The church didn’t officially adopt Sunday instead of the Sabbath until several hundred years later, when the Catholic Church was trying to integrate the church doctrines with pagan customs, to encourage them to join the Catholic Church. Most of our religious holy days and celebrations are actually celebrated on pagan holidays now, and Christians have mostly claimed those holidays, and ignored the ones from the Bible.

That being said, I am not one of those people who thinks that God is going to hold this against anyone who believes whichever day is correct. I think that the important thing is that we have our faith in God, and do our best to follow the teachings of Jesus , regardless of the church we grow up in.
To me, having a belief and faith in God, is what is important in our life.
