    From The Hill:

Chicago police are considering closing streets in the city's downtown area, along with other potential strategies, in an effort to avoid a repeat of weekend mayhem that resulted in the arrests of more than 20 people last Saturday, ABC Chicago reported on Tuesday.

Citing an internal police memo that was given to police commanders on Tuesday and obtained by the ABC affiliate's investigative team, the affiliate reported that downtown streets near Michigan Ave. and lakefront parks could be closed. Police sources told the affiliate, however, that no plans had been announced and that such closures were meant to be used in a worst-case scenario.
    More at Source.
Well, isn't that just something. Instead of arresting and prosecuting perps, just take another step to put downtown businesses out of business. Why not just order shops to remove all their merchandise so the gangs wouldn't come downtown to steal it. And yet, the mayor says there is no crime problem.

And I suspect the crime would simply move to another part of the city.

Yup! It is difficult to figure out who is the more stupid, the politicos running Chicago or the electorate who puts them in office.

    The electorate.
Gee, who got the brilliant idea of closing down Chicago? I don't think it originated in the Police Headquarters.

BTW, Making the merchants lose business -and they will- sounds like a very lefty first step.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Bezos smiles every time he hears about the lawlessness in Chicago and other cities. At best, I am guessing he doesn't lose any sleep over small businesses taking the hit. Same goes for hedge fund hog Soros, who seems to have some responsibility for those go-easy-on-crime DAs, whose actions foster more crime.

I see that Chicago's duly elected idiot has asked the federal government for help with the crime problem. If I recall correctly she rejected Trump's offer to help saying there was no problem and after proposing to slash the police budget last year. It's clear she doesn't even understand the problem and its root causes (e.g., fostering an environment where crime flourishes).

Chicago's mayor has announced that as of Jan 3 some businesses will begin verifying vax status for customers before rendering service. The whole thing is pure punishment and coercion, since the vaxed can also get/spread this thing. There is no science or public health rational to any of this...and they're gonna wait 2 weeks til after the holiday crowds.

I believe the high court will be shutting all this silly stuff down, it has no legs legally. There is no man or woman that has the authority or power to make our constitution null, that is what they're trying to do.

I don't know. Some restaurants in Seattle have been requiring Vax Passports since July, although that's a private property issue more than government decree. King County in that state has been requiring them since late October. Regarding our Constitution: shall we review what Enumerated Powers are contained therein? ;)

All of this is prostituting the ignorance that government has imbued in the masses to turn people against each other, while likely making things worse (assuming one believes their underlying virus and mask rhetoric.) The ease with which the supposedly educated are ejecting their common sense and human sensibilities is frightening (although I'm sure others are highly pleased.)

As well as constantly increasing the individual's fear....one of the best tools to manipulate people.

On a related note, I read this morning that two liberals who supported "police reforms" (a.k.a. defund the police) were carjacked within hours of each other. One would be IL state senator Kimberly Lightford in Chicago and the other Rep. Mary Scanlon in Philadelphia. It was reported that both of these women were behind a movement to send mental health specialists to the scene of a crime rather than police. Normally, such a carjacking event might be a learning experience except I doubt these two are smart enough to even understand what happened to them and why. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if these two imbeciles next propose that people their cars away to the "culturally deprived" so they don't have to resort to carjacking.

How do you think these two "brainy women" would react if their children were raped / killed during the carjacking? I wonder
