    I was not aware Americans did not know those two expressions. Yes a bub is slang for a cute baby.

    Bub is sometimes used for a boy. I used to call my youngest son Bub-squeak. Cheeky is more of a cool UK term. We go with smart a$$. :D

    Cheeky can also mean flirty in Aussie parlance. Bub-Squeak...cute as.
