How many of you remember Cal Worthington, whose car sales ads were often funnier than the shows they were interrupting. If you were in Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s, you probably do.

He was a popular car salesman up here, too. His son took over for a while here, but they sold out to Kendall. He wasn't much of a zoologist, though. He couldn't tell a lion from "his dog, Spot".

Seen a lot of his ads while living in So California. Very to- extremely funny. Just wonder how his car sales done. Must have done ok to be able to do the ads on tv, although, ads back then didn't cost nearly as much as they do today.

I think he did mostly the late night advertising, which probably carried a lower rate.

HELL YES I REMEMBER CAL WORTHINGTON!

I remember when he was Worthington Dodge, way before Worthington Ford in the animal ads.

Every ad I can recall was filmed in broad daylight.

His grandson is now running the business.
