When I was young, it was unthinkable to cremate a dead family member. The tradition here is to bury the dead. But in the recent decades, cremation is getting popular. My husband's parents were both cremated, his mother in 2009 and his father in 2013. We bought a niche in the columbarium where our ashes will rest when my husband and I finally bid our last goodbye.

I chose cremation because it's cheaper than burial here. And I'm hoping God don't make me burn twice.

Cremation for us and our ashes scattered at a local beauty spot. Just a simple ceremony. Nothing fancy. Don't want any sadness as we lived our lives how we chose.

We chose to be buried.. Double plot which means we will be buried side by each..
6 million Jews were cremated in the Holocaust, and personally, I think that is enough..
I personally lost so many members of my family to that horrible incident that I don't even want to go there, let alone being cremated....................................................

Cremation. My husband was cremated and sits atop my armoire in my bedroom.

After I'm cremated, my kids can decide what to do with our ashes. I'll probably want to be mixed and scattered together.

There was the idea that, since the Bible says that the dead will rise from the grave, there should be a grave and a body there, but I'm pretty sure that God has a work-around.

I don't think Catholics are supposed to be cremated but I'm not a good catholic....the rules might have changed also...I think I read that.

It's just that it's so expensive. Plus the fact that families tend not to stay in the same place, at least in an urn I can drag my husband with me.

Cremation just accelerates the bodies process of being reduced to dust that eons of earth burial produces.

My first wife's ashes are scattered across several GREENS at her favorite Golf Course.

I will be cremated with my ashes scattered in San Francisco Bay.

My late husband's only concern was that he be truly dead before they cremated him. He died on a Friday afternoon at 5:23 and they didn't cremate him til Monday, so I was relieved about that.

He was really anxious about that....

Another reason I chose cremation. If they can't find me, they can't register me to vote 'crat.:D

I definetly want to be cremated because I think it will be less expensive. I also don't want to take up resources using a casket, and land that could be used for something else. I mean a traditonal funeral costs big bucks, I don't see why I need that. A plaque or a tree planted in my honor would be all I would want. I would be happy with that. I just don't want anything elaborate or wasteful.
