Re: Image 64. The B-25 Bomber was one of the planes flown in to Laughlin/Bullhead City Airport in 2012, during our 2nd. stint as Snowbirds. Watching it doing aerial maneuvering was beyond description! Thank you for this link! They are absolutely wonderful pictures!

Hopefully, the sharks were fond of Japanese meat, that being said in memory of the poor bastards devoured after the sinking of the Indianapolis!

There is an excellent recounting in Rhodes' "The Making of the Atomic Bomb", of the journey of the Indianapolis from the States to Tinian Island and the aftermath beyond, carrying the Hiroshima bomb core within a steel box welded to the ship's hull. The Captain was told to place that box in value above and beyond both this crew and ship. He was dumbfounded.

If you care to read that excerpt, I'll be glad to forward it to you, but not the whole G.D. book! (That stands for "GOOD").

send it when you get a chance. the bomb had a lot of messages written on it. most obscene. but they did include from the crew of the Indy

we delivered the bomb. the first time the country was told about this disaster
