I haven't made the apple turnovers yet. I planned to, but then I got a craving for cherries, so I think I will probably make cherry cream cheese mini pies/turnovers, instead. I did make the puff pastry recipe, and it's chilling in the fridge, so I can make the dessert later. The puff pastry doesn't take long to make, and didn't wear out my hands as much as I thought it would. Someone commented that she used a food processor, but I think that would detract a bit from the 'roughness' of the dough, which I wanted. Here's the recipe link.

I love puff pastry and if I eat pastry at all, it will always be puff rather than short or flaky pastry.

It was the first pastry I ever learned to make in cooking class at school... and I continued to make it often during my daughters' growing years..

Thee days all the best chefs will tell you that shop bought puff pastry is just as good as home-made, and a lot quicker for sure, so I cheat now and use shop bought..
