I understand. It was my mother who controlled what we watched. If she didn't like the show, we didn't watch it. She didn't like All in the Family or Good Times but liked The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, Bewitched. I dream of Jeanie. Interestingly she liked Soap.

We have COZI and WE TV which shows a lot of the oldies. My favorites to watch are I Dream of Jeannie and even shows like Adam 12 and Emergency.

Night Rider was an 80s show I liked.

Yeah I like all the show everyone mentioned, plus Lassie, Riffle Man and Red Skelton Show and Ed Sullivan Show just to name a few. My Grandfather bought us a color television way back when I was a little girl. Granddad spoiled me so much so did Grandmother, miss them both so much!

Oh, my goodness. I was born in 1958 and grew up on many of those shows and movies. What about The Dick Van Dyke show? I dreamed of being part of the team (Rose Marie and Morie Amsterdam) and making up the sketches. And in my dream, of course, I would appear to sing or dance on the show we were writing for.

Who remembers the Darlings on The Andy Griffith Show?

  6. I do! I see the Andy Griffith Show many evenings on a retro channel, and they're occasionally on the show.

I remember being a child and watching the Ed Sullivan show with my family. One night they had the Beatles and they played the song "Hey Jude". Oh my goodness. People started dancing in the aisles and down near the cameramen. Does anyone else remember this episode? I also remember the man that could twirl plates on a stick. My brother and I tried that for days after the show.

Wow, so many to pick from, after school, of course we had to do our chores before we could watch TV. But one of my favorites was the Mickey Mouse Club, as I got older, Father know best, Leave to Beaver, Andy Griffin (still watch it), Adam-12, (another I still love to watch). Superman, and of course Dick Van Dyke, they use to show all the time on cable, and even though I had watched all the episodes, I would watch them again and again. Who remember Make room for daddy, with Danny Thomas? The one I could never get into was Denise the Menace and Gilligan's Island.

I didn't care so much for Mr. Ed. I liked the Courtship of Eddie's Father, particularly the lead-in song by Harry Nilsson, although I didn't know who he was at the time. As a young child, we didn't have television so the older ones, I know only from reruns. I loved the Lou Grant show.
