    lol...3 inches of snow.

    How can the post office get away with dumping peoples packages at the base of a stop sign?o_O The porch bandits and homeless would steal those packages as quick as they were left in the pile; never to be seen again.

    Biden is trying, and somewhat succeeding, in saving a lot of immigrants, from being deported from America before Trump comes into office on the 20th. Guess he trying, and again succeeding, in pissing off Trump and Trump supporters.

    I am so pi$$ed at Verizon I don't know where to start or where to end so I don't fill an entire damned page.

    I've mentioned here that I went in to the local store to see if there was a better internet plan available than the one I've had for so long (I use their wireless MyFi internet.)

    The guy:
    -Upgraded my phone
    -Upgraded my watch
    -Did me a "favor" and switched me to a business account with unlimited internet that was supposed to be cheaper than what I had.

    During the transaction he wanted me to use my Verizon VISA card so I could get the rewards points (that I had been applying to my Verizon bills.) I was skeptical of how this change might roll out so I declined. He told me I would retain my legacy consumer stuff and get the new business benefits. He was wrong.

    I later discovered that my consumer stuff got zapped, and I had about $50 in bonus bucks that are now gone forever. I was also suspicious that he did not delete the (2) MyFi receivers from my consumer account and I'd still be paying for them, but since my consumer account got zapped, I had no way of looking. I called the Help line, but since my PIN does not work (these things always seem to get reset without notification), I had to go to a Corporate Verizon store to get it reset (the franchises cannot do this due to risk of fraud.)

    So I drove 25 miles to the corporate store, where they verified that (a) my bonus bucks are gone forever, and (2) the guy did not cancel the MyFi units from my old account. So I got that all straightened out.

    I got my first Business Account bill today, and it is $60 MORE per month than I have been paying, and the Business Account credentials I created at the store do not work, so I can't log on and see details.

    I'm so mad I could spit. When I first upgraded phones, the Verizon·ista had me take my new phone AND my old phone home because he could not get the transfer to complete and wanted us to finish it later (get me out of his hair), and I was supposed to bring the old phone in afterwards. I called him at the appointed time to finish the process and he blew me off twice. I went back the next day to get it fixed and another guy said "I've told him to not do that." Yeh. Right.

    I received a survey after the Corporate Store visit and due to the low ratings I gave there was an option to have a Verizon Executive call back. That was 2 weeks ago. Ain't been no call.

    So I don't know what to do. I've enjoyed not having to worry about running out of bandwidth on my internet, but I was told I was gonna save money. I guess I have to go to a Corporate Store again and talk to them about it, but fear I'll get screwed again if I try to put things back the way they were. I'm just not sure that the unlimited internet is worth an extra $60/month.

    When I went to the corporate store, all the workers seemed enthusiastic and engaged. When my number came up, a woman appeared from the back room looking as though she just woke from a nap. She took my phone, called a number that was supposed to help, handed me back my phone, and returned to the back room. I punched thru the menu, was on hold, then the call disconnected. She was nowhere to be found.

    I walked up to a guy who was helping another customer and sort of invited myself into his queue. The guy was great, working on his existing customer's issue and contacting the people who could open my legacy account and get the MyFi off of it. The woman who "helped" me never made a return appearance.

    I got a survey, burned their ears off, and checked the box to have someone call me. They have not.

    Do you have any other options in carriers? I think after all that, I might consider a switch. My son and his wife had Verizon--phones and internet--and in Omaha it worked wonderfully. They moved to Indianapolis and the same program didn't work at all. They ended up switching everything. They are back in Omaha again, so they may be back to Verizon since it worked well for them there.

    I don't know. I'd need one that offered wireless internet, or settle for what Verizon might offer a non-phone customer, or get off my butt and make room for a fiber install. I get great cell coverage all over my property, even down in the creek beds.

    Remember my complaint about Kansasgas last few months? Well they did it again, they claim did not have my check payment I sent 1/2/25!
    After another phone call, still with no help- yesterday got a text.We have post your check! Only took phone calls and 11 days!

    Hedi, can you sign up for autopay to have them charge your credit or debit card each month? The mail delivery really sucks! :mad: I use to pay my credit card bill by check every month as soon it was posted on line or gotten the paperless bill. But there were a few times that it was getting close to the due date and my payment hadn’t been posted yet. I called the CC Company and they hadn’t received anything. I would write another check asp and send it again. I cancelled the first check I wrote. After a few times of this, I changed everything over to autopay. It has worked out very well. I do keep a close on my accounts to make sure nothing funny is going on.

    We are on my daughter’s family plan, and she had Verizon for a long time, but then she was offered a much better deal from TMobile. She got a special discount because she is a Vet, but even without that, it was better than Verizon (she said about half the cost) and we have not had any trouble with T-Mobile.
    That is just for cell service, and we have Google Fiber internet, but T-Mobile does have a package deal, too.
    Robin has unlimited cell, and she said we could actually just use that and run the iPads from the hotspot on the phone, so something like that might work for you also, since you said your cell service is good all over your property. You would only need one thing (cell service) if you did that.

    I may check into that, although I just signed up for a brand-new account and might have cancellation issues. Unlike when I first moved here, their coverage map now includes me.
