I'm 52, and the Harry Potter is more of a series for teenagers, but I still love it.
It's very inspiring, the movies and books I have watched and read have motivated me to write my own book.

To be honest I never really was able to get into Harry Potter. I have never read the books, and for me the earlier movies seem to drag. I do have to admit though that the last film was pretty decent. Yes, I saw the movies or bits and pieces of them, I kept trying to figure out what the big deal was all about with them. The final films were quite good and I think the issue here was that it was all leading up to this, but because of that reason the rest seem to drag at least that was how I perceived it.

I have not read any of the books. I did see the first movie and thought that it was just okay, but my daughter tells me the books are very good, and she's forty. She also says the movies wouldn't make a lot of sense unless you had read the books first, so that makes sense.

I agree that the movies make more sense if you have read the books. I was tutoring a young man a few years back that made me aware of Harry Potter, he let me read one of his books. I did enjoy it and have seen most of the movies. I think I still need to see the last two.

I, as others, was sadly never able to quite get into Harry Potter. I only watched the first movie integrally, and it seemed alright. I did catch the other movies on TV, but never watched them integrally.

The only book of the series I (tried to) read was the second one, as I was only able to pick that up. It started up really interesting, but it ended up to be quite lackluster.

They just aren't my cup of tea.

I never read any of the books. I saw the first 4 movies, though, and really liked them. After the 4th movie I lost interest.

Why did you lost interest in the movies, if you enjoyed the first four ones? :-O

While the 4th one was a good movie, when it ended I just wasn't excited about the next one. If I had walked into a room and it was playing I would have watched it. But I wasn't going to seek it out.

Oh, alright. I understand. Sometimes it happens that we suddenly aren't interested in continuing a movie series anymore. :(

If I could have watched them all back to back from the get go I would have watched them all, maybe. But to pause and pick up a year later, its going to be really hard to hold my interest from that long
