Another show business death, this time the British actor Alan Rickman, and like David Bowie he was only 69 and again died of cancer, he was in the "Harry Potter" movies and "Die Hard" and many more. I liked his acting style and saw many of his movies. News here
We have the movie Robin Hood w/Kevin Costner and him as the Sheriff. Also remember him in the Die Hard movie. He was killed in both of them. He was a good actor.
I've heard his name of course but I don't watch the type of films he's starred in, so I don't feel I know him. R.I.P !!
He was a good actor, and I remember him in many things. I even remember him in long ago bit parts. He played a lot of villainess parts. He could make you dislike his evil characters, and many times I would forget he was only an actor.
The name doesnt ring a bell for me either, nor the face but I've seen a few Harry Potter's with grandsons so I must have seen him. Another one gone too soon because of cancer...sad. May he RIP.
Yes he did a lot in the theatre as well and directed plays, he was originally a Shakespearian actor so very skilled at his craft, as you say Ina he inhabited the parts and you forgot he was acting. My favourite movies which he starred in were "Snow Cake" about a friendship with an autistic woman... "Signourey Weaver" also "Sense and Sensibility" and "Love Actually"
Another death to cancer today....Celine Dion's husband. http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/14/enter...and-death-feat1016PMStoryLink&linkId=20373736
Alan Rickman seems to have been that showbiz rarity, somebody for whom nobody had a bad word. He was a relatively late starter as an actor, coming from a working class background (increasingly rare these days) and I wonder if that was one of the reasons he was so good - he had experience of life. We seem to be losing a lot of good people lately.
Yes we are Tom and relatively young ones as well, I always liked Alan Rickman, he created some amazing villains but could play almost any other personality as well, I guess you are right in thinking he could pull on his wide experience of real life, to give an authentic feel to his characters, a great loss.
.... And Dan Haggerty today... Grizzly Adams. It's usually "three in a row" but this month it's been going on the second or third set of three already.
