Austin, TX. has two seasons: "Is it going to be hot, or cold, today?" season, and "Austin Hell."

Today, was the first day of Austin Hell as the temperature hit 98°F! 2011 was the worst summer I ever experienced, but I think this summer will be as bad, or worse.

We were planning on moving to Colorado, soon, but the whole CV19 thing has thrown a wrench in the works, for now.

Hopefully, things will smooth out, and we'll be at 8500' by next April.

It looks like things are starting to open back up, so maybe you will be able to move this year before it gets too hot, and enjoy the Colorado summer. I miss the wonderful north Idaho summers, but not the bitter cold winters; so Alabama is about as good as it is going to get. I hate the heat and humidity, but spring and fall are fine here.
Good luck with the upcoming move, TG !

I've been here forty-two years. I don't remember 116° in the shade, and I work outside, sometimes at the top of the trees I'm pruning or removing.
I sit in my sauna at 220°, and like it. While it's the boiling point of water, the sauna is dry heat, so it's bearable.
All in all, though, I much prefer snow and cold weather. My twenty-five years in Chicago winters are good memories, for the most part.

    Thanks!
I still have to sell my house. I think CV19 is going to make that tricky, too, as buyers may hesitate to commit to a mortgage in these uncertain times.

Just out of curiosity, have you checked out Flagstaff, Az.?
Many moons ago I attended NAU whilst managing the F&B end of a hotel and found Flagstaff to be an interesting place to live.
In the winter, Arizona weather is so diversified that a person could practically be snow skiing in Flagstaff in the morning and then travel for an hour and a half and be water skiing in the afternoon.

I really like Flagstaff. I've hung out there many times. We discussed moving there, but Colorado keeps calling to me. Maybe it's the song!

There is always beautiful North Idaho, @Trevalius Guyus . A bit further than Colorado, and no John Denver song to go with it; but a great place to live and friendly people.
This is Dawson Lake, near Bonners Ferry , where my son (who took this photo) lives.

If you think Austin's hot, try the Rio Grande Valley.
