Saw that Nashville made the top 20 cities still in the running
    for Amazon's second headquarters.

Nashville was ranked as the 5th fastest growing cities in America.
Also the hottest single-family housing market in the U.S.

Sounds nice to attract business, but it also has its downsides that
will affect choosing it by Amazon.

Transportation: We are the bottom of the list for public transportation
and road infrastructure. Road system here is a mess.

According to most reports, the cost of living is outpacing salaries by
a huge margin. Some reports state it takes over $70,000 to live here comfortably.
( average for the state is around 46,000 per year )

Guess we will see how this plays out.
Probably would be good for the city if it happens.

Also on a sports note, we are in the running for a new Professional Soccer Team.
    That I could get behind...:)

My Nephew, his wife, and their 6 month old daughter moved to your fair City from Germany, bought a home there and love living there.

Many years ago I spent some vacation time there and found it nice too. :)

I would say most people I have talked to ( business people ) are pro on the issue.
Can't see much of a downside for normal people living here.

I'd like to see it happen.

( Now remember, I'm one of the ones who likes big cities...)

I think that it would be great if Amazon chooses Nashville for their second headquarters ! Since we are just a couple of hours south of there, it would mean that most of our orders should arrive faster, It is too bad that Huntsville was not among the cities that were considered; but I think that I read that we are getting another car factory here, or at least in the western part of the county.
I believe it is Mazda and Toyota (which I didn’t know were made together), and that should help us a lot here with jobs as well.

@Yvonne Smith Yes, the Southern states have done very well with getting the major automakers to build
    here.

Here's a list of Automakers with plants in the South.

    Ford - Kentucky
    GM - Kentucky
    Honda - Alabama
    Toyota - Kentucky
    Nissan - Tennessee, Mississippi
    Volkswagen - Tennessee
    Hyundai - Alabama, Georgia
    Kia - Georgia
    BMW - South Carolina
    Daimler - ( Mercedes Benz ) Alabama

Raleigh is in the running, too. We have a great transportation system and other things that would be an inducement for them to come here. I don't know what the politicians have offered them but the Triangle Area is a booming area. I hope they will come here.
