I support the right of people of any race or color to a healthy, happy, productive life. If that is so then what is my motive in introducing this topic? I'll try to explain as briefly as I can.
Modern industrial society mitigates against the natural forces in evolution which, in the past, normally selected for higher intelligence. If no other factors are controlling, modern societies tend to "dumb" themselves down rather rapidly because the less intelligence strongly tend to reproduce more than their more intelligent contemporaries. I think this an awful outcome.
I would favor strong economic incentives to discourage the less intelligent, of whatever race, from having so many children. The solutions might include sterilization or other permanent form of birth control after having one or two children. The opposite is true today, where more children mean greater welfare and other benefits.
Of course you would have to test people with the most valid, nonprejudicial tests available to determine their IQ and such mandatory tests.would be a severe. intrusion by government. That's not good but I see no way around it.
Anyway, this is a difficult and unhappy topic, isn't it, folks?

Al, I had to look her up. I have to say I agree with much of her work. She was opposed to abortion. I, also.
.And In this quote from a Wikipedia article - "Sanger did not tolerate bigotry among her staff, nor would she tolerate any refusal to work within interracial projects. Sanger's work with minorities earned praise from Martin Luther King, Jr., in his 1966 acceptance speech for the Margaret Sanger award.", I find agreement also.

Also from the Wikipedia article: "Sanger was convicted; the trial judge held that women did not have "the right to copulate with a feeling of security that there will be no resulting conception."
Do you agree with the judge, Al?

She was the founder of PlannedParentHood. She was a eugenicist. Wanted to eliminate any inferior people.

I don't think she was a racist. That some of her views coincided with some eugenicist's views does not make her a eugenicist. Her scant association with racists.was unfortunate and misguided and she regretted this in later life. As far as "eliminating" inferior people, she wanted to discourage. the near-retarded INDIVIDUAL from from having so many children and not proposing that any race was, in itself, inferior.

In the above link is this statement "In a letter to Clarence Gable in 1939, Sanger wrote: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members” (Margaret Sanger commenting on the ‘Negro Project’ in a letter to Gamble, Dec. 10, 1939)."
Sounds to me that the first qualification for inferior people was that they be black.

Lois and Al, I was somewhat familiar with Sanger years ago but I'd forgotten her name and associations until she was brought up on this forum. My recent review of her life and work was summary and quick. I looked at your material. I admit the possibility that she was, indeed a racist, even though Martin Luther King, Jr. extolled her..

Do any of you think that a person, of any race, with a high college degree (Bachelors, Masters or Phd) is better than someone (any race) with only a high school degree? There are companies that really think so. My wife can get a job that pays a whole lot better than I'd get, because she has a Bachelors. In fact, at one company she worked at, it was stated right in the newspaper ad, "must have a Bachelors Degree" and that statement was 100% approved by upper management.

My last Supervisor/Director had a Bachelors Degree in Business and two Certificates (certified) by APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) as a CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) and CPIM (Certified in Purchasing and Inventory Management). Without a doubt, I knew he was better than me and definitely got paid better. I was a Materials Coordinator for him.

    @Dwight Ward
    https://noqreport.com/2020/01/20/wh...rd-they-were-still-publicly-against-abortion/
Here’s a bit of a history lesson. Planned Parenthood’s initial goal, at least publicly and politically, was to promote birth control. They expressed opposition to abortion until the 1970s, even handing out pamphlets that warned against women attempting to have abortions.

“Is birth control abortion? Definitely not. An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health. It may make you sterile so that when you want a child you cannot have it. Birth control merely post-pones the beginning of life.” (Is Birth Control Abortion, Planned Parenthood pamphlet, Aug. 1963, p.1)

This is extremely important to understand because there’s a perennial disinformation campaign that happens on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day that highlights the fact that Dr. King accepted the Margaret Sanger Award in 1966 from Planned Parenthood. They use this as “evidence” that Dr. King supported their mission, and technically he did. But what they never mention is that the mission he supported was for birth control and not for abortion. In fact, at the time he accepted his award, Planned Parenthood had not performed a single abortion, at least none acknowledged to the public.

There are several references to hess acceptance of the award

Al, some of what you say is edifying. I am generally progressive (or liberal or whatever you want call it ) but I've always regarded abortion as a horror. It is absurd to think you can decide a time when a fetus becomes a person. They are all human beings from the time of the first cell division, even if they couldn't live outside the womb. I don't believe a woman owns her fetus. She is its carrier and protector but she has no more right to end its life than if it were a child outside of the womb.
I can't reconcile these ideas very well with what I agree with about women's rights. I've always failed to have a uniform and non-contradictory worldview. I suppose I'm too old to fix that.

“I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan. I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak. In the end, though simple illustrations, I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” -- Margaret Sanger

“Covertly invest into non-White areas, invest in ghetto abortion clinics. Help to raise money for free abortions, in primarily non-White areas. Perhaps abortion clinic syndicates throughout North America, that primarily operate in non-White areas and receive tax support, should be promoted” -- Margaret Sanger

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the Minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” -- Margaret Sanger

“Blacks, soldiers, and Jews are a menace to the race.” -- Margaret Sanger
