I love this since the first time I saw it. I woke up this a.m. at 4 o'clock and opened my little blueletter bible app. It has this on the home-page called "live map". It shows the number of how many are in the app, and this is "just" those using my same bible-app online . It's comforting for me to think of all the people that are just like me, seeking the Lord's Word, whatever time it is of day wherever they are. I know I'm never alone because God is with me, but to know other people are doing the same thing I am is such a comfort. wanted to share this screen-print of the "live map" and hope it makes you smile The actual map is neat because it blinks and changes throughout the day. God bless your day richly! Also, I'll put verses I read this a.m. as that's what opened first on my kindle since I'd looked up something about Elijah (James 5:1-20 nkjv) before I went to sleep last night, denise PS Please know you are so welcome to share anything you read recently that touched your heart https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jas/5/1/s_1151001
To see so many people of different countries opening a Bible app is indeed a wonderful thing but my heart and prayers do go out for the people of 52 countries where the Bible including Christian literature and computer apps are deemed to be illegal. Through all the turmoil this country is facing at the present time, I do feel fortunate to be able to freely worship and read “The Word” without the fear that so many have to endure.
52 countries it's illegal Bobby? I did not know it was that number at all I'm sure there are our brothers and sisters in Christ are finding ways, but how stressful I think that would be for me. I have a lot of anxiety, at times, but God is lifting that away as I spend time every day now in His Word. I'll be praying for the Body of Christ around the world, thank you for the info and reminder, denise PS When I look at that map now, I'll think of the areas I don't see the "dots" and pray for them. This reminded me of Corrie Tenboom's story of the fleas in the concentration camp, who would of thought to thank God for the fleas.
I'm reading a book by Max Lucado, and it so hit home for me. I love the way he writes, he has such a good sense of humor. I got this in my Houston Library Digital library I belong to. I'm sure it can be found elsewhere if anyone is interested: God Never Gives Up On You, by Max Lucado (description below from my library site) "Ever wonder if you've stumbled one too many times for God to use someone like you? Could you benefit from an encounter with God's unending, unbending, unswerving love and devotion? If your answer is yes, it's time for you to see how God's grace transformed Jacob's life. And if you feel undeserving of God's grace, this book will serve as a refresher course on God's perfect plan to use imperfect people to do great things. God Never Gives Up on You is for the strugglers among us and the fumbler within us. For those of us who are part saint, part scoundrel; we mean well, but we don't always do well. We have breakthroughs and breakdowns, often in the same hour. We need no reminder of our failures. But where can we find examples of God's steadfast grace? No one is more suited to help assure you of God's grace than Jacob. He was less a prodigy and more a prodigal. Strong on savvy. Weak on conscience. Jacob took advantage of his famished brother and pulled the wool over the eyes of his dying father, yet God never turned his back on Jacob. And he won't turn his back on you. If you are ready to start counting on God's grace and believe he never gives up on you, this book is for you."
With Walz claiming 'freedom of speech is not absolute' I worried that we might be heading down that road where the Bible would be illegal. Interestingly it is coming back in Russia. But China is rewriting the Bible, changing it a bit.
