I lashed out and bought myself a new iPad 10

Id paid for one for hubby for Christmas cause he’d only ever had my hand me downs and I thought well why don’t I get myself one as well ..so I did about 2 weeks ago

It’s kinda different it doesn’t have a home button but apart from that it’s basically the same
Oh if one wants to do a screen shot with I’ll do at times when wanting to edit or make a photo smaller it took some thinking about cause you have to bring photo or item up you want to take a screen shot of and swipe up from bottom of page and it takes the screen shot

I’ve had it set up for a couple of days now so all good….apart from the annoying finger print no matter how many times I set it up it just won’t or doesn’t work for me …grrrr so I’ll just continue using my passcode.

AND apple and I believe others have changed to a different plug where it plugs into the iPad so now I have 2 different leads at my charging station one for phone that no longer fits new iPad and a seperate new one for new iPad

I got the blue one as they only come in 3 bright colours apart from a silver one

The screen shot thing is different. We have fairly recent models, maybe a couple years old, and to take a screen shot, you click on the up volume button and the on/off button at the same time. I liked the old home button, not a big fan of all the swipes, pinches, etc.

I have not seen the buttons on the new iPads, but with mine older iPad Pro , I can take screenshots either way. I usually do it by using the buttons when I am intending to take a screenshot because that is what I am used to doing; but when I am doing the “swiping up to close” thing, sometimes I accidentally take a screenshot that way and then have to delete it.
My newest ipad is a Mini 6, and it has the side fingerprint sensor, which I do not like much either. It is erratic whether it works or not, and since I mostly use it for reading, and seldom take screen shots with the Mini, it has not been an issue . Now that I looked at where the buttons are located, it does look like the side-swipe might be the only way to take a screenshot.

People have really been complaining about what Apple did with the new ipads, especially as far as plug in connectors go. This iPad uses a usb-c connector to charge; but it uses the first version of Apple Pencil, which uses the original apple charging port, and was designed to be plugged into the iPad charging port to charge the pencil. So now, in order to use an Apple Pencil with this version of iPad, you have to have a converter connection, or a different way to charge up the pencil.
The new version of Apple Pencil simply attaches to the top of the ipad and charges that way, no other connection required. The Mini 6 iPad uses the new Apple Pencil , so it can connect to the top ; so I do not see why the newest iPad cannot connect the same way.

One wonderful thing that they did do with the new iPad is change where they put the front camera. It has always been on the left side when the ipad is in landscape position (which is how most people use the ipad vs the phone), so when you are using facetime or something similar, the camera is hard to adjust. The new iPad has the camera at the top center in landscape , which is a much better place for it to be at.

This one also has the “three dots” Smart Connector, so it should be able to use the apple keyboard, which is a definite plus. You can charge up both at the same time.

The fingerprint on the home button was always erratic for me when I had that, too. If i worked out in the yard and my print was rough, the sensor didn’t recognize it, and I would have to use the code anyway. The little one on the Mini seems to be the same way, sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I LOVE the facial recognition on my iPad Pro , it always know that it is me when ever I am close to the ipad or my phone. I wish they had it on all of the apple devices !
