Most of my dreams are stressful and at work where I can never get finished. However last night I had the strangest dream ever.

I was in a room that was like an office. I was in a high neck sleeveless short almost mini-length wedding dress, a pencil style, with a long mesh overlay that went to the ankles and long sleeve mesh on top.

There was a woman sitting at the desk that appeared to be a secretary. There were decorations being put up in the room. I was handed some knick-knacks to put on a shelf and what appeared to be a sign to hang up. Looking out the window the gal at the desk with her legs up and heels on the desk says, "Here comes the wedding planner."

This guy in a pink suit and white loafer shoes comes in and sits down in a plush chair. The secretary hands me a check and I glance at it and then hand it to the wedding planner. He starts crying.

"Hey hey," I say, "I am the one getting married here and I just gave you a check for $30,000 so what the hell are you crying about."

"It is all so beautiful," he says gayly choking tears, "You are getting married and I just made $30K. I can't wait to meet the groom."

"Me too," I said, "I don't know how you talked me into this blind marriage."

I woke up and sat up with a start and felt my face and upper body all menopausal hot. I layed back down for an hour unable to get back to sleep trying to rewrite this dream. Finally, my pounding headache made me drag my sorry patoot out of bed and take a couple of Tylenol.

Laying back down I was struck with ways to make this an exciting story. I recorded them in my mental notebook. I must have fallen asleep because when I woke up, I had forgotten what was recorded.

The cool morning air felt good on my bare legs as I did my morning patio workout listening for any sound that might indicate I was no longer a single girl. Finally after breakfast and now coffee time, I pulled out two mugs, then it hit me that I had once again dodged a bullet. I put the extra mug back in the cupboard.

"That was too close for comfort," I thought as the solo cup of old Joe was tipped on my lips.

I hardly ever remember dreams. Can count them on maybe two hands. But I just had a dream where two very large, identical twin Mormon missionaries pushed their way into my home. They started telling me what was wrong with my life from what I had said to previous missionaries. I tried to interject that they were wrong. They seemed confused that their info was not correct but just kept at it. I finally THREW them out. (I can do that:rolleyes:)

I had a short dream last week. I was living at the house where I grew up. Went outside and 2 very large round fish were laying in the yard. We couldn't figure out where they came from. Went to ask the neighbor, who was washing his school bus. He said a bunch of fish showed up on his lawn also. Then I woke up. It was something I ate.

We had a flood here a while back and some good sized blue gills were on the lawn as it receded and we were scooping them up as fast as we could and throwing them back into the pond.
    Got Pond?

I used to always remember my dreams. I would have a "main dream" during the night, then I briefly wake up a little before it's time to get out of bed, fall back asleep, and have an entirely different second dream. Although I always remembered both dreams quite vividly, there was a while where I wrote them down. None of them made any real-world sense, except the ones about chasing bosses with a huge carving knife.

Now that I'm not working and am not on a routine schedule, my dreaming cycle has shifted. But I had a weird one last night I sort of remember. It was as though I were homeless and wandering around, and I crashed in a small bedroom that was sort of in an old classic dorm setting (think long hallway in a large old building with lots of wood trim.) I did not sleep well (in the dream) because I knew I should not have been there. Then I woke up (in the dream) and ended up in an office being sort of chastised for what I had done, but it seemed to be no big deal. There may have been a part where I worked in the kitchen afterwards for a while, but I'm not sure.

For a couple of months I had dreams that were on the same theme of being in a strange city or location without my car or wallet and wondering how I would get home and realizing I would have to ask perfect strangers for help getting home and wondering how they would react to this. There was never a conclusion to the dream. It was just this one scene of being in the strange place and then it would end.

This never came true in real life, nor has a stranger ever come up to me and asked for help getting home. But now that I’ve had this dream, I wonder if I would react differently if a stranger did this. I’ve always been very skeptical of any stranger who said anything to me in public and moved away from them quickly without any interaction. I can remember a time long ago when I was more open and my family was helpful to strangers but that evolved into them telling me it was dangerous to even talk to one now.

I talk to strangers all the time. I doubt that I have a trip to any store (Walmart, ALDI, Kroger, whatever) without getting into at least one conversation with someone I don't know.

I have often wondered exactly why people respond to me and don't just slowly back away...or worse. That being said, I don't think I've ever had anyone start up a conversation with me the way I do with them.

The strangest dream I ever had I remember pretty clearly, because I had it twice on 2 different occasions, both as a young kid. Many years later I met someone deep into his psychology studies and happened to mention it. He had an interesting interpretation that I’ve always remembered.

    The dream
I’m walking down a road surrounded by farmland and woods. I turn around and see a T. Rex dinosaur barreling down the road headed right at me. I jump into the ditch running along side the road, trying to hide. T. Rex keeps coming and I can see he’s still headed directly towards me. I notice there’s a chicken in the ditch with me. I grab the chicken and pull a big feather from him and wave it at the dinosaur, trying to frighten him away. He doesn’t even see it or me and just strides right over me.

    The interpretation
The road is my path in life and the dinosaur represents a deep fear I have. This fear is distracting me from my life path, forcing me into a place I did not want to be. The fear is so great that my attempts to fight it are like trying to frighten a dinosaur with a chicken feather, totally inadequate and as a result, the fear washes over me. He said the interesting thing to him was that it happened twice, identical dreams. He said I should try to figure out what happened, or was maybe planned to happen around those times so I could recognize the triggering event. I never discovered anything and never had the dream again. So weird how our minds create these things.

I think you were feeling guilty about eating a cute little chicken, and then watching Jurassic Park, twice :D:p

Seriously though, I think the interpretation was pretty excellent ;)

The dream I never seem to forget, it was so vivid, happened over 20 years ago. I've never had anyone interpret it for me though.

I was surrounded by people at a party/celebration, and I could see out a picture window, neighbors in their houses partying also, like New Years Eve. Then I looked to my left and saw a bunch of military trucks coming through an underpass. I saw several men in uniforms, but their faces were covered by helmets, starting to come to the house. People in the party started running, mass confusion, but I saw a trap-door in the floor and bent down to open it so I could hide, or getaway I guess. There was some lady standing near me and she wanted to go too, so I held it open for her. That was all, end of the dream.

All my dreams are cast-of-thousands Cecil-B-DeMille epics. End of the world. Great disasters. Strange people. I'm often a hero, though, so that helps. I also get a lot of back-at-work dreams where things are going very, very badly.

The other half says I often mutter "It's just a dream, it's just a dream" in my sleep.

No wonder I wake up tired.
