I was ABOUT to take a shower. I am so glad I had not started. We have a well and with no power I could not have rinsed off any soap. I could not flush the toilet, do the dishes. I do them in the morning, so sue me! I often drink cold leftover coffee so coffee was not a problem. No cooking or opening the fridge. No internet to find out what was going on here early in the morning. So, I was just going to the farm to do chores. EXCEPT I had parked in the garage and we have an electric opener. Yes, I know there is a theoretical way to open the door by hand but my theoretical is broken.
I think, the thing that saved me from Armageden fears was the cold coffee. And preps.
Approaching famine and war was over in 45 minutes.
    I wear a watch.

Ugh, I hate power outages. Glad it was a short war and famine, Mary.

Nothing like have "normal" disrupted, is there?

I pay rental on a 75 gallon propane tank so I can have my gas stove when power goes out. At least I get coffee. Unfortunately, modern gas ovens operate electronically (no pilot light or mechanical thermostat) so I don't have the use of my oven, unless I buy some type of battery backup power supply like they sell for desktop computers.

I'm glad you were back on the air quickly, minus the "all lathered up and no place to rinse" experience. ;).
